Our Introduction Part I

We are the Hills and we've been married for almost 13 years! We have 4 kids (2 girls, 2 boys). Nate and I met in college and I basically knew I wanted to marry him. We got married at the end of our junior years. Within about 8 months of marriage we were pregnant with our first child. Nate was working at a credit union and I was a SAHM still going to school--with very little income! It was tight, but life was good.
As time went on we felt a little stuck. We weren't sure what was going to come of his job, if there was potential for him to make more money. We were living in his parents rental home (paying rent),but we wanted to buy a home. Looking back it would have been a bad decision. We had a bunch of undergrad debt. We prayed about it for a couple of years. The answer was always no. We needed to stay right where we were. That was a frustrating answer to say the least.
One day we got a flier in the mail about attending grad school at Notre Dame for an MBA. It really caught my eye, but why?? We got so many of them in the mail from different schools. I brought it to Nate's attention and he was on board and wanted to look into it too. That next Summer (he did the 1 year program that starts in June) we found ourselves in South Bend, Indiana. We took on an extra $50k on in debt to our already accrued $33k! I had so many sleepless nights knowing that as soon as school was over we had to start paying on the full $83K!!
OH IT GETS BETTER
Our 3rd son Reid was born 3 days before graduation. Guess who still didn't have a job?? US! It was a scary time! We had a few jobs in the works, but didn't know if anything would pan out. We were kicked out of our apartment (it was on campus family housing) so off we went to Utah to live back with my parents until we landed a job. A little stressful?? YES! FINALLY, in only a few weeks of being with my parents we were offered a job in Ohio!
WE HAD A JOB! Crappy part?? The pay was similar to what he was making before grad school! To be continued.........
